The Platinum Homes CEO and Board of Directors are delighted with the appointment of Joann Bell, who previously held the role of General Manager for Platinum Homes Auckland South. Her extensive experience and progression into this leadership role mark a significant new chapter for the company, which is on track to deliver 400 new homes nationwide this year.
Joann’s acquisition of Auckland South sets a new precedent for the nationwide construction company with Joann becoming the first licensee of a region that is led solely under female leadership.
"We are thrilled to have Joann stepping up to lead the Auckland South business, taking over from David Watt, with whom she has worked closely for many years. There is no one better suited for the role than Joann, and we look forward to supporting her along this journey," said Jamie Webster, CEO of Platinum Homes.
Since joining Platinum Homes in 2007, Joann has consistently demonstrated her expertise, leadership, and deep industry knowledge. In recognition of her exceptional contributions, Joann was appointed General Manager of the Auckland South franchise in 2018. Since then, she has ensured the smooth operation of the region while also offering leadership support and consultation to the Northland and Rodney licensees.
Under Joann’s management, Platinum Homes Auckland South has achieved remarkable milestones. The region won the prestigious Supreme Licensee award for 2023-2024 at the Platinum Homes Annual Awards. Additionally, the region’s show home at Paerata Rise received an award in the highly competitive Show Home category at the 2024 Master Build House of the Year Awards.
Beyond her role in Auckland, Joann has been instrumental in supporting the executive leadership team and driving innovation within the national group. She is a key player in the launch of High Performance Homes by Platinum Homes, a pioneering initiative to deliver energy-efficient, superior quality homes. These homes align with the New Zealand Government’s Net Zero 2050 policy and promote sustainability within the construction sector.
High Performance Homes have been spearheaded by the Auckland regions, with Auckland South recently opening their second show home at Paerata Rise – a striking three-bedroom High Performance Home. These homes are designed with Passive House principles, prioritising sustainable design and construction to create scientifically proven healthier living environments. They also incorporate Structural Insulated Panels (SIPS), a building technique that has gained popularity in Britain, Europe, and Australia over the past two decades due to its energy efficiency, durability, and sustainability.
Joann is confident that High Performance Homes are the future for New Zealand homes.
“As Joann steps into her new role as the Auckland South licensee, we are confident that her vision, passion, and commitment to building high-quality, sustainable homes will lead the region to even greater success” says Webster.
For those eager to experience the innovative design and energy efficiency of High Performance Homes, Platinum Homes Auckland South invites you to visit the show home at 44 Arohania Avenue, Paerata Rise. Discover how sustainable, healthier living can become a reality in your next home.

As we move through 2026, interior design is shifting towards homes that feel warm, lived in and timeless.
Rather than picture perfect spaces, the focus is on comfort, layered textures and choices that stand the test of time.
Here’s what is shaping home design this year and how you can bring it into your own home.
Why Indoor Temperature Matters More Than You Think
We spend a lot of time at home, sleeping, relaxing, working. The temperature inside shapes not just comfort, but health. Living in a home that is too cold, too hot, or swings drastically in temperature can affect sleep, mood, energy, and even respiratory or cardiovascular wellbeing. Homes that maintain a stable, healthy temperature reduce illness, support better rest, and help people function at their best.
