Jim and Anne came to Platinum Homes Northland with a few ideas and some early sketches, looking to create a home that would suit their Kerikeri site and bring their family together.
Originally from Wellington, Jim and Anne knew it was time for a home that could better support their growing family. With two sons living in the UK and four grandchildren, their Wellington home no longer suited the way they wanted to gather and spend time together, making the decision to build a new home a natural next step.
As construction got underway, the excitement of seeing their vision come to life quickly followed. “Walking onto the site after the work had started and the slab was laid out and the frame was up, it showed us how special this home was going to be,” said Jim.
One of the standout features of the home is its Hinuera Stone exterior cladding. Anne discovered the stone during the selection process, and it has since become one of her favourite features — a perfect example of how Platinum Homes designs can be personalised to reflect individual style and taste.
Just as memorable as the finished home was the building journey itself. “It was absolutely smooth as, it was a really lovely experience actually,” said Anne.
Now settled into their Kerikeri home, Jim and Anne have a space designed for connection, comfort and making the most of time spent together.
